SHARK Exposes The Rowell Ranch Rodeo
On May 17th and 18th, 2008 at the Rowell Ranch Rodeo in Castro Valley, California, SHARK’s video cameras rolled as rodeo personnel secretly shocked the horses with 5,000 volts of painful electricity in an attempt to make these grand animals appear rank and wild. Rodeo “Legend” Jumped Ship, Abandoned His Country in Time of War
To hear rodeo people tell it, Harry Rowell was the “Rodeo King of the West.” But there is, as Paul Harvey might say, “The Rest of the Story.”
What the rodeo people don’t like to talk about is that Harry Rowell, an English native, was a deserter from the English Navy. Worse yet, he deserted during World War I, when his country and comrades needed him the most.
What type of a man abandons his fellow soldiers during a war and runs away to a foreign country? We can think of a few words to describe those actions.
In spite of being a cut-and-run deserter, Rowell is celebrated by rodeo people, giving lie to the supposed patriotism of rodeo thugs. So again borrowing from Mr. Harvey: “Now you know the rest of the story!”
