OKEECHOBEE — Three men were arrested at the Okeechobee County Agri-Civic Center after a deputy allegedly watched them snort cocaine in a bathroom.
When Deputy Leland Schoonmaker, of the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), reportedly ordered the men to “... give me the dope ...,” one of the men threw the bag into the toilet and flushed it. But, continued the deputy, the bag of suspected powder cocaine was not flushed away and he was able to retrieve it.
Arrested Sunday, Oct. 12, were: Julio Cesar Gordillo-Herrera, 25, S. Shore Blvd., Wellington; Carlos Alfonso Gordillo-Herrera, 31, S. Shore Blvd.; and Eulises Salites, 27, Indian Mound Road, West Palm Beach.
Each man was charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and tampering with evidence. Each man is also being held in the Okeechobee County Jail on a bond of $10,000.
According to the deputy’s report the three men were attending a Mexican rodeo Sunday, Oct. 12, at the county facility.
