Two Stanton brothers were arrested Wednesday on multiple charges that stemmed from a confrontation with police officers at Rockin’ Rodeo, according to court documents.

Baldomero Rodriguez, 30, was being held Thursday on a $30,000 bond for a third-degree felony charge of assault on a public servant.

Rodriguez’s brother, Fernando, 20, was being held Thursday on a $52,500 bond for a third-degree felony charge of obstruction or retaliation and a class A misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, search or transport.

Both suspects also were arrested on a class C misdemeanor charge of public intoxication.

The officers were working off-duty security at about 11:48 p.m. Wednesday at Rockin’ Rodeo when Fernando Rodriguez was found highly intoxicated and causing a disturbance at the front bar. The officers told Fernando he was too intoxicated to stay at the bar and needed a ride home, prompting him to become defensive toward the officers, according to the arrest affidavit.

The affidavit further states the officers escorted him out of the bar before he broke free and said “I’ll (expletive) beat your (expletive).”

Fernando’s brother, Baldomero, who was also intoxicated, tried holding Fernando down as he tried swinging his arms at the officers. Fernando later said “Take off your badge (expletive), I’ll (expletive) kill you,” prompting the officers to arrest him.
