The Philadelphia Gun Club is notorious for holding live pigeon shoots, where birds are launched into the air and shot for fun. You can view cruelty committed by club members HERE.
Our new video focuses on a pigeon shoot held at the gun club on January 21, 2017. After the shoot ended, workers from the club were supposed to do a walkthrough where they picked up wounded birds. However, club workers did a typically inadequate search that lead to birds being abandoned to suffer slow deaths.
As you will see in the video, two injured pigeons fell to the shoreline below the gun club’s property. Both of these animals were left to die slow, painful deaths. It's important to note that these are not all the birds injured and abandoned by the gun club, for there are many that we don't find. Every bird used in these shoots is a victim, for birds that we have rescued from the gun club have been emaciated and on the verge of starvation, so even if they escape the area they do not have hope for survival.
The following day, SHARK legally flew one of our Angel camera equipped drone over the area to search for any other abandoned and wounded birds. We filmed a number of birds on the roof of the gun cub’s house, and some of them appeared to be in distress and injured.
It was Edmund Burke who said, "the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." When you have organizations such as the Bucks County SPCA, the Women’s Humane Society, the DA, police and Township of Bensalem not directly intervening to stop these heinous shoots, then this is why such evil continues.
SHARK will continue to expose those who participate in pigeon shoots and the cowardly acts of animal cruelty they commit.
While the video has been seen more than 48,000 times, and our petition has received more than 8,600 signatures, CBS has refused to answer why it has allowed such cruelty to be broadcast on their network.
Emails sent to CBS CEO Les Moonves have gone unanswered, so we emailed CBS Non-Management Directors. This is the response we received:

Rodeos are cruel and brutal, and as a recent rodeo in Texas has shown, they can be fatal as well.
