Cruel Christian School Rodeo Fundraiser in Northern New Jersey Exposed
DEAR FRIENDS,
On the weekend of May 16 and 17, there were two cruel rodeos in New Jersey. The first rodeo was a fundraiser held by the Sussex Christian School, a private religious school in Sussex, NJ.
Watch the video HERE.
SHARK’s investigator filmed acts of cruelty that raises serious questions of hypocrisy from a school that states as part of its mission that their teachers, "desire to be a model after Christ’s example...”
During the bulldogging event, rodeo contestants brutally threw the animals to the ground and twisted their necks violently.
This steer was clearly stunned after having his head twisted to an alarming degree. Was that a model of Christ’s example?
The saddest aspect of the rodeo was the calf roping event. The calves used are babies, just a few months old. They are innocents, and they were brutalized so that the Sussex Christian School could collect money.
These calves were violently slammed into the ground. This is not something that a school that claims it is following Christ’s example should ever do.
What happened at the rodeo was animal cruelty. What the Sussex Christian School did by holding that rodeo was hypocrisy.

Please politely contact the Sussex Christian School and ask them to never hold a rodeo again as a fundraiser. The money they collected is stained with animal cruelty, and it violates their very reason for existence.

On the Sussex Christian School website it states: "The school realizes that the beginning of knowledge is the fear of the Lord."
The only fear present at the rodeo, however, was that inflicted upon innocent animals.
Cruel Tierra Caliente Rodeo in Southern New Jersey
On May 17, 2015, the second rodeo of the weekend, Tierra Caliente Rodeo was held at the Dream Park in Gloucester County New Jersey. Acting on a tip, SHARK sent an investigator to the rodeo.

This bull was whipped and shocked repeatedly
This was an extremely cruel rodeo. Some of the bulls were whipped and electroshocked with abandon. Additionally, the bulls were kept in miserable conditions. The arena was very hot and some of the bulls foamed from the mouth. In the entire four hours we were present, we saw no water given to the animals.
This bull was so exhausted that he collapsed on the arena floor. After that, they just tied him to the fence and forgot about him. You can see the foam in his mouth. He was given neither water or medical care.
Visible wounds could be seen on some of the bulls and alcohol was everywhere. One of the workers was actually drinking beer while operating the electric prod.

The Dream Park is owned and operated by the Gloucester County Improvement Authority and the Gloucester County Board of Freeholders. Please call and email the Gloucester County Board of Freeholders and politely request that this cruel rodeo never be allowed back and ask that the rodeo be investigated for animal abuse.

All of the bulls were tied tightly to the fence by their head, meaning they could barely move for hours.
