Los Angeles - Deputies are investigating allegations that rodeo workers are abusing animals.
Animal rights activists say the proof is on tape. A videotape allegedly shows horses being shocked with electric prods in order to make them rear up for bronco riders.
Activists say video shows a man behind a horse, leaning over the gate with a taser device hidden up his sleeve. After shocking the horse, he quickly hides it, activists say. This rodeo was three months ago in Trabuco Canyon. The Sheriff's Department said it is investigating possible charges of animal abuse.
A rodeo spokesman said animal prods are only used in a legal manner.
