Last June, members of the Chicago Animal Rights Coalition (CHARC) secretly videotaped a live turkey shoot at the Lone Pine Sportsmen Club in Middleport, PA. Now, CHARC is threatening to organize a boycott of Pennsylvania unless the Sportsmen Club cancels its planned October 15 turkey shoot.

In an effort to rally support for their campaign, CHARC plans to air the "bloody" tape at an October 12 press conference at the Penns Landing Comfort Inn. Hard Copy and Inside Edition have already obtained copies of the tape.

Robin Lord, a local animal rights activist, said that CHARC will carry through with its threat to organize a boycott of Pennsylvania.

"CHARC will keep Ohio, Michigan and Illinois tourists away. As a Philadelphian, I would like to try other things. However, if that's what it takes to stop the terrible things that are going on in the commonwealth, perhaps [a boycott] is the way to go," she said.
