The NRA has sent out a number of action alerts defending live pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania: Ban on Pigeon Shooting Could be Voted on Soon!

Pennsylvania Bill to Ban Sporting Tradition Remains on Active Senate Calendar!

Let's take a look at one of the now deleted NRA alerts:

"The participants are law-abiding, ethical shooting enthusiasts, hunters, and sportsmen who would not tolerate an activity that would constitute cruelty to animals."

We know that pigeon shoots are already illegal under Pennsylvania anti-cruelty statute 5511, but that corrupt District Attorneys, like Bucks County DA David Heckler and Berks County DA John Adams, who have received money from pro-pigeon shooting interests, refuse to prosecute and protect their wealthy patrons.

As for being law-abiding, how do they explain this?

And this?

Ethical shooting enthusiasts? That is simply an affront to the word ethical.

Here are just a few of the many examples we have.

And the most important issue - the cruelty - that is evident in the suffering and blood spilled by every bird that is shot. Most birds do not die quickly. The wounded ones who can fly will most likely take days to die.

Any reasonable person who watches what happens at a pigeon shoot knows that each and every time a bird is shot, an act of animal cruelty is committed. That the NRA must resort to lies and deception to fool their own members, because the truth crushes every argument they make, says everything about their lack of honor and dignity.

We challenge the NRA to debate us, anytime, anywhere, on how they can dare say this is not cruel.

Here is another example of cruelty from a pigeon shoot.
