DEAR FRIENDS,
 
On September 5, 2014, United States Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma held a political fundraiser where 1,000 pigeons were hand-thrown into the air and shot at for fun. SHARK had an investigator at the event who filmed the cruelty in all its horror. You can watch our original video exposing the shoot HERE.

After a nearly year-long investigation, SHARK is filing complaints with appropriate federal and state agencies against Senator Inhofe and his associates.

The following is the list of complaints:

1. Ethics complaint against Senator Inhofe filed with the Senate Select Committee on Ethics

2. HATCH Act Complaint, regarding use of government employees used to staff political fundraiser, filed with the US Office of Special Counsel

3. Complaint with the Oklahoma Tax Commission for potential failure to pay sales tax on purchase of pigeons

4. Animal Cruelty Complaint for pigeon shoot filed with the Kiowa County Sheriff

5. Ethics Complaint against Tom Buchanan (manager of the Bureau of Reclamation land where the pigeon shoot took place) filed with the Oklahoma Ethics Commission

6. Letter to Bureau of Reclamation regarding misuse of their property


 
Please contact the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the United States Senate Select Committee on Ethics and ask that they open an investigation into Senator Inhofe’s actions.
