Animal welfare activists have released footage that they say shows horse tripping at a Harney County rodeo in July, months ahead of a statewide ban on the practice is set to take effect.

The eight-minute video posted on YouTube was taken July 13 at the Harney County Fairgrounds, said activists with Showing Animals Respect and Kindness, an Illinois-based nonprofit that opposes horse-tripping.

The event appears to have been the Harney County Ranch Rodeo, according to a Facebook listing.
